Curry House Guide 'Certified'

Sultan's Palace, Liverpool

Overview: Restaurant in Victoria Street, L1, specialising in Tandoori and Mughlai cooking, both originating from the north west frontier territory.

Stand-out dish: Rara Lamb Punjabi - A house-created  blend of herbs & spices giving a masala paste for a dish combining minced and diced lamb to give a true Punjabi taste.

Diner reviews: Nice little find.  Great varied menu.  The usual classics but some other great additions inc shared starter plates which were great.  The main lamb madras was great with just the right amount of spice and heat.  The chicken sizzler was outstanding, lovely marinade, tender juicy pieces.  The breads were beautiful light and fluffy.  Will be coming back!

Bundobust, Liverpool

Overview: Award-winning vegetarian restaurant on Bold Street, L1, providing fresh, flavour-packed dishes that you can't find in high-street curry houses, and boundary-pushing beers.

Stand-out dish: Egg Bhurji - Cumin and green chilli-spiced scrambled eggs, with green peas and coriander, served with bhatura (a puffed & fried sourdough bread).

Diner reviews: Most amazing veggie Indian food. Great flavours, lots of spice and loads of choice on the menu. The combo for 2 is definitely worth trying and such big portions. You can’t go wrong.
